Apparitions: a supernatural appearance of a person or thing.  (a ghost)
 
Cold Spot: an area in a room that has a temperature decrease that is lower than the rest of the area.
 
Debunk: to expose or excoriate a claim as being pretentious, false, or exaggerated.
 
Demon: an evil spirit, devil or fiend.
 
Demonic Haunting: an area or place where a demon resides and torments people who live, work, or enter.
 
Demonology: the study of demons or of beliefs about demons.
 
Direct Writing: when an entity uses anything available to write on a surface. (Pen and paper, paint and wall, etc).
 
Discarnate Entity: the soul without a physical body; ghost; spirit.
 
Electromagnetic Field (EMF): Magnetism is produced by an electric charge in motion. Electromagnetism is the physics of electricity and magnetism. Charges of electrical energy in motion are said to be electromagnetic.
 
Electronic Voice Phenomena: voices caught on recording equipment that are not heard audibly, thought to be of spirits.
 
Entity: ghost; spirit; soul without a physical body.
 
Fear Cage: a place where high EMF (electro magnetic fields) readings occur, usually a small room or enclosed space with many wires, cables.

Types of Haunting's.
 
Intelligent Haunting:  Unfortunately these types of haunting's are very rare.  An intelligent haunting is when they (Spirit) interact with people.  The most common belief is that the ghost is connected to the site or people in some way.
 
Residual Haunting: Non conscious and unintelligent with no thought or purposely, they Usually appear as a person but can also be a group of people, an animal or any non living thing. They stay in the same location replaying the same event over and over, usually on some rhythmic cycle or pattern and Sometimes cause electrical environment interference to occur. Often compared to a video recording that automatically plays itself over and over.
 
Infrared (IR): The part of the invisible light spectrum that is contiguous to the red end of the visible spectrum and that comprises electromagnetic radiation of wavelengths from 800 nm to 1 mm.
 
Kinetic Energy: kinetic energy of an object is the extra energy which it possesses due to its motion. It is defined as the work needed to accelerate a body of a given mass from rest to its current velocity.
 
Manifestation: One of the forms in which someone or something, a spirit, is revealed or forms to be known.
 
Mist: This phenomenon is called fog, a form of a spirit.
 
Night Shot: device built into cameras with IR bulb or bulbs to amplify the light in a room or place in total darkness.
 
Orb: Orbs are said to be a form of spirit energy and they must emit their own light. (Not reflected.)
 
Most orb photographs are merely the result of dust or even weather conditions such as rain, humidity, dust and airborne particles up close to the camera lens at the time the flash goes off. You should always make note of the conditions around you when doing ghost photography. 
 
Paranormal: Beyond the range of normal experience or scientific explanation.
 
Poltergeist: phenomenon attributed to an invisible spirit or ghost that manifests by moving and influencing objects, generally in a particular location such as a house, room or location within a house.
Portal: a doorway or tunnel leading from one place to another.
 
Raps: series of knocks done by entities or spirits.

Shadows: manifestation of spirits or entities as a dark mist resembling the shadow of a person.
